The Yerkes Observatory | 2026

The Yerkes Observatory is a late 1800s astronomy research center in Southeast Wisconsin. Until the 1990s, scientists like Carl Sagan, Gerard Kuiper, and Nancy Grace Roman studied the cosmos from this ornate University of Chicago campus. The intersection of science, history, and architecture really makes this worth a detour for any fellow geeks in the extended Chicagoland area.
